One of the most time-consuming tasks for a conference Chairperson is assigning the piles of accepted abstracts to the appropriate sessions at a conference. Using Mira’s suite of tools, the Site Administrator will assign the Chairperson to a conference track. The tools allow the Administrator to assign individually, or in batches. Once assigned, the Chairperson will distribute all the abstracts for that tack to the hard-working reviewers for evaluation. Mira’s platform makes this process an easy one, with just a few mouse-clicks. The Chairperson can contact reviewers throughout the process with email blasts or individually, to answer questions and check to their progress.
In the meantime, the site Administrator is creating sessions using Mira’s Session Management event tools. For each conference track, a Chairperson can schedule all the accepted abstracts into the appropriate conference event, such as an oral session or a poster presentation.
The Site Administrator might schedule some abstracts as well. Mira’s software keeps both the Chairperson and the Administrator constantly up to speed with the other’s assignments. The Unscheduled Submissions Report is automatically updated each time an abstract is scheduled into a session. Mira’s software ensures that every abstract that has been reviewed and accepted, but not yet assigned to a session, will be on this report. This important report is readily accessible to both the Administrator and the Chair, and keep them both organized and in the loop.
